You Are Confident, Making Sure You Believe In Yourself!

You are confident June 1.png

Have you ever experienced a little doubt in your abilities?  Do you long to achieve a particular goal but find yourself doubting that you can get it done?  Don’t think you are all alone in feeling like this   You are not.  We all doubt ourselves at some point in our lives.  Self-doubt is something that anyone in the world experiences at some point in their lives.  Doubt can be an intense struggle for some.  If you don’t understand what self-doubt may be, it is defined as the lack of confidence in oneself and one’s abilities.  This is what keeps us from reaching our goals, looking towards the future, or completing a project that may be extremely important to us.  You need to know this is your time to take action and work towards overcoming self-doubt that may be stopping you from completing the most important things to you.

As we noticed in the definition, self-doubt can be caused by a lack of confidence.  Therefore, we need to need to rewire the thinking of self-doubt so we can boost our self-confidence.  People can tell you, you need to become more confident, which is pretty straightforward, but doing the work to become self-confident can be a bit harder.  The great thing about all of this is yes; it can be done.  Just take one step at a time.  Here are are suggestions to help you build your self-confidence.

1.    Fake It Until You Make It!

This may sound odd, but this does work.  When you act confident, even though you may be scared out of your whits, this can trick your mind into helping you become a more confident person.  So the next time you are out, stand up tall, talk with conviction and take the action you desire.  Act like the confident person you want to become until you become just that.

2.   Find Someone To Be Your Cheerleader

If you have a personality who thrives on praise and gets a boost in your confidence whenever you receive a compliment, you need to find someone to stand in your cheering section.  A useful tip is to speak to a trusted friend, an accountability partner, or hire a coach or mentor to help.  Let them know that you work well with having praise in your corner, and ask them to applaud you on as you work towards building your confidence.

3.   A Challenge Can Help

Whenever you set and reach a goal can be a huge confidence booster.  Some individuals think you have to set a big goal, but the plan can be small.  An example could be to challenge yourself to walk around the block two days this week.  You can apply this to any area of life.  Just tackle it and rise to the challenge.  Reaching your goal can boost your confidence overall and help you in all areas of your life.

Try these ideas and see if you can use them to boost your confidence whenever you face a challenge.

Don’t stop there- throughout your daily life, pay close attention to your confidence.  Anytime you find yourself slipping back into self-doubt, focus on a confidence-building activity that will help improve your confidence.  Keep going, and don’t give up.  You will be out of the habit of doubting yourself before you know it  and on to becoming the confident and productive person you have always wanted to be.
